The man, the myth, the culinary legend. As a personal project I wanted to stretch my illustration skills and try to capture different styles using one portrait to compare and contrast the differences. The biggest challenge was definitely translating the photo into a recognizable and believable style, while still capturing Ramsay's likeness.
"I think pressure is healthy, and very few can handle it."
- Gordon Ramsay
First I tried a low-poly style. Playing with geometrics and all those angles really helped with learning how to establish a silhouette and work within it.
Grime art is a style that I've been drawn to lately, with plenty of flowing lines and bold colours to keep me happy. The one challenge was adding just more details and not being afraid to just add more!
Lastly, I couldn't resist attempting the style of Shepard Fairey's iconic Obama poster.
