Bold, colourful and full of passion are the words that best describe Andina Brewing, a local Vancouver Brewery. I was super excited to get the chance to work with the Andina familia to help produce labels and other promotional material for their collection of limited release beers.
I worked alongside Ben Greenberg, Andina's brewmaster and Lead Graphics, to design labels that reflected the lively Colombian roots of the company. We mainly focused on drawing customers in with beautiful landscapes, iconic landmarks and visuals to give their customers a taste of Colombian culture. They really make you wish that you could hop on a plane, lay on the beach and enjoying their vast selection of crisp, fruity beers.

Another side project that they gave me was to design posters for all the beers that they have brewed over the years. They wanted to advertise those beers around their taproom to create talking points for customers, and bring in some new visual intrigue to the space. We also made sure to include the ingredients and specs of each beer on the posters as a little bonus for all the beer lovers out there.

Around the time that the business was established, the owners had also sold on-tap only beers that never had associate labels or graphics made for them. They still wanted to include those beers into the poster collection, so they entrusted me to make posters from scratch. I wanted to stray away a bit from the landscapes to focus on showcasing more specific visuals that can be associated with Colombia, to provide some variety amongst the posters. I even learnt a few fun facts about the beer names which helped in the design process a lot! My favourite would have to be the Bambuco, which refers to Colombian folk music that is accompanied by a romantic partners dance.
